GST Registration Experience with AuditorSaab

Initial Registration with ZolveIt: We initially registered for GST through ZolveIt. However, after consulting with the respective department, we were informed that the consent letter provided was only for one of the three partners, which was not acceptable. They recommended using a local agency to resolve the issue.

Engaging AuditorSaab: We found AuditorSaab online and contacted them. They quoted a fee of ₹3500 for GST registration. We paid 1500 but did not provide an invoice.

Show Cause Notice (SCN): Fortunately, the department issued a Show Cause Notice (SCN) seeking clarification.

Clarification Process: AuditorSaab claimed to have spoken with someone in the department and advised us to file the clarification.

Filing the Clarification: The clarification was filed through AuditorSaab. I had to prompt them to review the SCN again to ensure all documents were included, as there were two points mentioned in a single line. Despite this, the clarification was initially left in draft form before being submitted.

Despite regular follow-ups from my side and discussions between AuditorSaab and the department, the application was ultimately rejected.

When I inquired about the rejection, I was told that the contact person was unreachable, supposedly in a meeting. After six hours, when I followed up again, AuditorSaab questioned why a person couldn’t be in a meeting for six hours in a government department.

Concerns

Lack of Professional Expertise: Throughout our interactions, there was no Chartered Accountant (CA) present in the office. They were always either traveling or at a client location. This raised concerns about the professional expertise of the firm, which seemed to rely on the brand name “AuditorSaab” to create the impression of CA involvement.
Inadequate Knowledge of GST Applications: There was a clear lack of knowledge and expertise regarding GST applications.

Additionally, none of the reviews for AuditorSaab appeared to be from individuals representing companies or detailing specific issues, suggesting they might be paid reviews. After I exposed these issues, AuditorSaab refused to provide further services, claiming they couldn’t take accountability due to their lack of expertise.

Final Thought: Either build the necessary expertise or refrain from taking on work that requires it. This experience felt like a scam.
