Sehr netter Mitarbeiter am Schalter. Hat alle unsere Fragen beantwortet und uns alles in Ruhe erklärt. Da wir um 8 Uhr morgens da waren, war überhaupt nichts los.

Understaffed. We waited in line at Alamo for a long time with nobody at the counter. Turns out one person was handling both the Alamo and National counters. But that needs to be communicated better since we were moments from walking over to another counter that was staffed and just renting from them, thinking nobody would help us.

No complaints with the car itself.

We had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by Jack during our recent car rental experience with Alamo. From the moment we picked up our car, Jack's professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly stood out. He made the process seamless, ensuring we had everything we needed to start our trip stress-free.

What made our experience even better was seeing Jack again when we returned the car. His warm demeanor and genuine care for customers were evident both times, and it was clear he takes great pride in providing top-notch service. Jack is a true asset to Alamo, and his exceptional service made our trip all the more enjoyable.

Thank you, Jack, for going above and beyond!

Chad was great at drop off. Car was nearly brand new; 6500 mile 2024 MB CLA.

Really great customer service.

I’ll always book directly with the company; my 3rd party reservation was never confirmed and couldn’t be found in the system. But they beat the price anyway by a few bucks.

The car class we reserved was not available at pickup, so we were "upgraded" to a small SUV that would've been a few bucks cheaper at booking had I wanted a small SUV. Our first day in Austin, our window was smashed out within 10 minutes of visiting Mount Bonnell. The process to switch out cars was time consuming. Alamo was unable to verify if any nearby locations had a vehicle for us, so we drove to three different locations trying to locate one. Then they charged us for the fuel. Seemed like a low blow when dealing with vandalism on vacation. The replacement car came with a screw in the tire. We found out the next morning when we had a flat tire. Do you know how difficult it is to find free air anymore? We did a couple times, but the other times cost $2 each. Anyway, we didn't want to go through the process of switching out cars again since the last time was so time consuming. Thankfully, at drop off, the service person had some compassion on us and gave us a small credit.

I rented and prepaid for two vehicles (one for me and one for a business associate) at the rental counter at the Austin airport. When I tried to exit through the Alamo/National check-out booth with the vehicle, I was treated like a criminal by the Alamo agent working the exit booth. He told me that I wasn't allowed to rent two cars even though I had contacted Alamo in advance and gotten it approved and already been approved at the rental counter. My business associate wasn't allowed to keep the vehicle that I rented for him and had fully paid for (I had also purchased loss damage insurance for both vehicles so Alamo wasn't at risk). My wife had to come from across town to charge the second vehicle to her credit card. The whole ordeal cost us an extra 2 hours of delays in getting our vehicles. I spoke to another Alamo employee that night who told me that I simply had the bad luck of choosing the wrong booth (Alamo agent) to exit and that that agent was notorious for being unreasonable and not using common sense thinking it would help him get positive attention from his boss. She was right, his boss ended up being as unreasonable as him when I spoke to his boss.
I will say that when I returned my rental vehicle that the Alamo representatives (Margaret and her supervisor- Ashely) were super kind and professional. They deducted one of rental day charge from my bill in an attempt to compensate us for our inconvenience.

In April we flew into Austin for the solar eclipse. Rented a car through Alamo ahead of time. Getting the car was pretty seamless. Didn’t appreciate the flirtatious guy checking us out. We’d reserved a small car but they were out so they gave us a bigger vehicle for no charge. We drove 50 miles each way. Returned the car with a full tank and no damages. Two months later we received a letter in the mail charging us over $2,000 for scratches on the roof! No scratches are even visible in the included pictures. The kicker is the picture of the mileage on the car at the time of the damages was PRIOR to when we rented the vehicle. I called the number of the claim department and explained the issue. I was put on hold and after 20 minutes, I was hung up on. I called back only to hear a recording that the office was now closed. So they just stop working at the end of the day? Put customers on hold and then hang up on them when the clock runs out? Overall a very discouraging experience. We’ll see if they are honest about trying to charge us for damages we did not cause, and if there’s any apology for such terrible service.

FOLLOW UP
Over several weeks of calls and emails to resolve this issue, Alamo still refuses to admit their mistake. They did, rightfully, drop the charges, but it came in a letter saying "we have made the decision to take care of the damages and costs of this claim," as if they are some generous entity taking care of me. Still zero acknowledgment that I never caused the damages in the first place. They are unable to admit a mistake. BEWARE when renting from this company.
