I have used Brown Goertz & Co Inc a few months back. Susan has been very professional, extremely knowledgeable and has helped my business through a sales tax review. Save yourself the hustle of dealing with all the "ambulance chasers" contacting you and promising you to get you out of the sales tax audit by charging you a small fortune. I would fully and unreservedly recommend this firm to anyone who is going through a sales tax audit. I don't normally write reviews but dealing with this firm and with Susan has been such a great experience that writing this review is just another way of saying thank you!

We engaged Susan's team for professional assistance with a grueling Texas Sales Tax audit that ran from February through November, 2016.
After receiving the original notice from the Comptroller's office that our small retail furniture operation was to be the target of a sales tax audit – encompassing three years (and one month!) of tax receipts – we did a bit of research regarding whether to "go it alone" or have a tax expert help us. We found Susan Goertz's website to contain a lot of useful information that spoke to her competence in these matters.
I tend to do much of my own simple legal, trademark, contractual and accounting work without spending much money on consultants in those fields, but dealing with the state's sales tax audit requirements looked intimidatingly complex and we hired Susan's firm. So, I have no experience in how this process would have worked had I elected to handle it myself, but it seemed daunting. Make your own decision based on your company's circumstances, of course.
I was glad I'd sought Susan's professional assistance, as she and her team helped us handle the entire audit process in a relatively painless fashion as well as providing lots of explanations of how it would unfold. It should be noted that Susan found our company's sales tax-related records to be extraordinarily well-organized, so the time spent with her team as well as providing data and supporting documents to the state auditors, although ultimately hundreds of hours, was probably less than with many sales tax audits.
The end result was a "gold medal" for both us and Brown Goertz: we received a VERY rarely granted "No Tax Due" letter from the Comptroller and the audit concluded with our company to be found completely in the clear.

I found Susan through a post she'd written on the "Sales Tax Support" website. I gave her a brief synopsis on where I was and didn't really know where I was going? Well, Susan replied (called) and immediately put my mind at ease - I knew she understood my situation and how best to deal with it. Three months later... IT'S OVER!
