Had a colonoscopy with Dr. Lerner. The process was great, seamless really. He told me all the risks and told me “he’s not a cowboy and won’t force anything if there are any obstacles during the procedure” which felt quite reassuring. Woke up super loopy but zero issues from the procedure. I would have given 4 stars only because they were a couple hours behind schedule which I wish they called me ahead of time and told me to arrive a little later…

BUT their manager, Alex, fit me in right away to their busy schedule when I described my symptoms being urgent (I was able to provide him with a previous Dr’s evaluation notes whom I was not able to get the procedure from due to insurance issues) so they get 5 stars for being accommodating.

Aside from the delay at the office, staff was great and procedure was smooth. Thanks for the help!!

Dr. Lerner, thank you for listening to us, patients. You referred me for an MRI and took the results of previous tests to compare them. This gives a complete picture of what is happening. I like the way you work and, of course, other patients should understand that if the doctor is busy, then he is not at the dance, but working with another patient. You have a very friendly team, Doctor - they are always polite! Thank you.

Dr. Lerner is kind but very old school which takes a long time for things to get processed . The office staff seems unprofessional and disorganized. It seems as Dr. Lerner let’s them do what they wants and treat the patients with out sympathy. If you can’t make your appointment the next available is in 2 months . The the last 2 times we saw the dr. we typically had it scheduled at 4:30-5pm and did my leave till 9-10pm.
But the staff at the front desk has the nerve to tell the patients to “respect your appointment time.”
Everything is document on paper. I feel like if there’s were an Audit for records they would have findings.

Pros and Cons about Dr. Lerner. He does take a LONG time to see you so be aware that even if you have an appointment you still wont be seen for another 1 or maybe 2 if its busy. BUT that's because he really sits down and listens to your problems. He listened to me explain my situation and even gave me feedback that made me feel better about it. He definitely made sure my concerns were valid and there had to be some kind of answer to my problems. He is really thorough and doesn't take any chances (in terms of getting blood work, colonoscopies, ultrasounds, etc.) He just wants to be certain there is nothing to worry about. Their office is pretty old school. They do all paperwork, nothing online, they don't send you texts or emails. They will call you but only the day before (or of) your procedure (if that's what you are getting). It was an annoyance waiting so long and the lack of electronics but he did listen to everything I had to say and, unlike other dr.s, doesn't bow off your concerns like they aren't important. You definitely have to reach out to THEM, they wont call you back or ask you for a follow up. Terrific Dr. but their staff is just ....meeh.

The sort version of my review is - if you are referred here, ask for another referral. This office does not care about you and you will wait hours past your appointment time to be seen.

I can't honestly review Dr. Lerner because I never did see him. What I will say is that I was referred to him. I called his office and the soonest appointment was 5 weeks away. Given we're in COVID I decided to wait it out. Appointment was at 345. I arrived early, filled out paperwork and was told to listen for my name. After an hour long wait I asked how much longer. I was told 30 minutes. At 45 minutes (so now almost 2 hours) I told the staff I wanted my paperwork and was leaving because I refused to waste any more time on an doctor who cares so little about patient's or their time.

Their staff knew he was far behind - they should've advised me at the beginning that it would be over an hour. Especially during COVID where everyone is sitting around wearing masks. I would've gone outside and asked them to call me. And even when I left they didn't apologize. Horrible customer service and clearly this is a trend if you read the other reviews.

I waited (no joke unfortunately, had no choice) 4.6 hours for my apt. I had to wait for the "emergency appointment" for 2.4 weeks, when having something possibly life threatening, that boggles the mind, the wait. Then he never got back to me with the results of my tests. I think he is very overworked. Also a bit on the rude side. Complete disorganization. It has been a month now, and I have placed various calls and STILL no word on his opinion of my problem. Weird. Now I have to wait tomorrow to get fit in and sit the whole afternoon (I was informed it could be the entire day) so I can get in to get my results.

I would change doctors, but at this point I just want the results. Good Grief the waiting is horrendous, and I don't think it's a case of no news is good news, I think it's a case of "wait, who are you again?"

So I sat for my results 3.5 hours and never got them. Finally a nurse MADE him talk to me, and he ordered more tests.

So now I am adding to this post. 3rd visit, after waiting two hours the doctor NEVER SHOWED UP and cancelled his apts for the day (Friday). DO NOT walk, RUN away from this CRAZY unprofessional doctor who BTW is a slob. I will be reporting him-for SURE.
